National Land Cover Database 2011 (NLCD 2011)

National Land Cover Database 2011 (NLCD 2011) is the most recent national land cover product created by the Multi-Resolution Land Characteristics (MRLC) Consortium, providing the capability to assess national land cover changes and trends across the United States from 2001 to 2011 at a spatial resolution of 30 meters, based primarily on a decision-tree classification of circa 2011 Landsat satellite data.

    USDA Crop Reporting Districts

The Iowa Community Indicators Program (ICIP) provides resources for understanding regional economic and demographic change. Our data and analysis services help inform local decision-making, policy development, and strategic planning processes. ICIP continues Iowa State University's long history of socio-economic data service provision.

Land Use Strata - Selected States

The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), National Agricultural Statistics Service (NASS) area sampling frame is a delineation of all parcels of land for the purpose of later sampling the parcels. The area frame is constructed by visually interpreting satellite imagery to divide a state into homogenous land use areas (strata) based on percent cultivated. The strata are typically defined as low, medium or high percent cultivated, non-agricultural land, urban use, agri-urban, or water. This site provides links to download ESRI shape and symbology layer files, as well as low resolution JPEG or higher resolution PDF images for each state.

RCA Report - Interactive Data Viewer

This site supports the Soil and Water Resources Conservation Act (RCA) by providing data from a variety of sources, including data on the status and trends of natural resources, conservation efforts (funding and conservation practices applied), and the agricultural sector. Reports can be created at the State, Regional, or National level.

          NAL Geodata

The United States Department of Agriculture National Agricultural Library Geospatial Data catalog contains geographic location-based agricultural research data, imagery, research location context, and more. Users can search records representing a variety of datasets, maps and graphics, aerial and phenocam images, and other services.
