White-tailed deer density estimates across the eastern United States, 2008

The QDMA spatial map depicting deer density (deer per square mile) was digitized across the eastern United States. Estimates of deer density were: White = rare, absent, or urban area with unknown population, Green = less than 15 deer per square mile, Yellow = 15 to 30 deer per square mile, Orange = 30 to 40 deer per square mile, or Red = greater than 45 deer per square mile. These categories represent coarse deer density levels as identified in the QDMA report in 2009 and should not be used to represent current or future deer densities across the study region.

America’s Great Lakes — Superior, Michigan, Huron, Erie and Ontario — hold 21 percent of the world’s surface fresh water and host habitat for a variety of fish and wildlife species of concern. They provide drinking water for more than 40 million people and economic benefits from fishing and recreation. The Great Lakes Region is also a major agricultural area, with more than 55 million acres of land under production. This dataset includes a printer-friendly CCA map and shapefiles for GIS.

Water Erosion Prediction Project (WEPP)

The Water Erosion Prediction Project (WEPP) model is a process-based, distributed parameter, continuous simulation, erosion prediction model for use on personal computers running Windows 95/98/NT/2000/XP/Vista/Windows7. The current model version (v2012.8) available for download is applicable to hillslope erosion processes (sheet and rill erosion), as well as simulation of the hydrologic and erosion processes on small watersheds. Included in the download package is the WEPP model (version 2012.8), WEPP Windows interface (August 2012), CLIGEN climate generators (versions 4.3 and 5.3), documentation and example data.

Feedstock Readiness Level (FSRL) evaluation: Triticum aestivum (wheat straw), Alcohol-to-Jet, Central East, May 2017

Feedstock readiness level evaluations are performed for a specific feedstock-conversion process combination and for a particular region. FSRL evaluations complement evaluations of Fuel Readiness Level (FRL) and environmental progress. The data from this evaluation, compiled in May 2017, assesses the maturity of Triticum aestivum (wheat straw), as a feedstock for the Alcohol-to-Jet conversion process in the United States Central East region.
