2012 Census of Agriculture - Web Maps

The Census of Agriculture provides a detailed picture every five years of U.S. farms and ranches and the people who operate them. Conducted by USDA's National Agricultural Statistics Service, the 2012 Census of Agriculture collected more than six million data items directly from farmers. The Ag Census Web Maps application makes this information available at the county level through a few clicks. The maps and accompanying data help users visualize, download, and analyze Census of Agriculture data in a geospatial context.

    NASS Data Visualization

NASS Data Visualization provides a dynamic web query interface supporting searches by Commodity (e.g. Cotton, Corn, Farms & Land, Grapefruit, Hogs, Oranges, Soybeans, Wheat), Statistic type (automatically refreshed based upon choice of Commodity - e.g. Inventory, Head, Acres Planted, Acres Harvested, Production, Yield) to generate chart, table, and map visualizations by year (2001-2016), as well as a link to download the resulting data in CSV format compatible for updating databases and spreadsheets.

      NASS - Quick Stats

The Quick Stats Database is the most comprehensive tool for accessing agricultural data published by the USDA National Agricultural Statistics Service (NASS). It allows you to customize your query by commodity, location, or time period. You can then visualize the data on a map, manipulate and export the results as an output file compatible for updating databases and spreadsheets, or save a link for future use. Quick Stats contains official published aggregate estimates related to U.S. agricultural production. County level data are also available via Quick Stats.

Product System Model of United States Poultry Production 2010

This product system represents the poultry meat produced for human consumption as a result of producing one broiler. Both types of live weight poultry are at the farm gate, ready for transport to the processing plant, although not necessarily at the same farm. It includes the fraction of a spent hen attributable to the production of one broiler.

Feedstock Readiness Level Evaluations Summary Table v3.0

The table in this dataset collates the results of the FSRL evaluations listed under the Farm2Fly Ag Data Commons datasets to enable users to quickly identify, review, and compare available evaluations. Feedstock readiness level evaluations are performed for a specific feedstock-conversion process combination and for a particular region. FSRL evaluations complement evaluations of Fuel Readiness Level (FRL) and environmental progress.

Feedstock Readiness Level Evaluations Summary Table v2.0

The table in this dataset collates the results of the FSRL evaluations listed under the Farm2Fly Ag Data Commons datasets to enable users to quickly identify, review, and compare available evaluations. Feedstock readiness level evaluations are performed for a specific feedstock-conversion process combination and for a particular region. FSRL evaluations complement evaluations of Fuel Readiness Level (FRL) and environmental progress.

Feedstock Readiness Level Instructions, Checklist, and Report Template for Evaluations

Feedstock readiness level evaluations are performed for a specific feedstock-conversion process combination and for a particular region. FSRL evaluations complement evaluations of Fuel Readiness Level (FRL) and environmental progress. This document contains instructions, checklists for crops and for woody materials and residues, and a template for the report, as well as examples.

Development of Life Cycle Inventory Data for U.S. Swine Production Scenarios

The swine production datasets are the product of ongoing work by the University of Arkansas Center for Agricultural and Rural Sustainability, the United States Department of Agriculture, and the National Pork Board. The data documentation in this metadata record describes the project background and nomenclature, in addition to a description of the dataset structure, individual unit processes, and production scenarios. Flow-level metadata descriptions for selected unit processes within the U.S. swine dataset can be found in the Appendix section.

Unit process data for bio-jet fuel production from poplar biomass via bioconversion at a biorefinery

A partial Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) is conducted to investigate the life cycle impacts of a biorefinery designed to convert poplar tree chips into jet fuel via fermentation and subsequent hydrogenation. The goal of producing jet fuel from Populus (poplar) trees (bio-jet) is to create an alternative to petroleum based jet fuel (petro-jet). Currently no jet fuel producing biorefineries are in commercial operation and the results of this LCA will be used to assess a potential environmental impact that could result from scaling up the proposed system. Work is part of the Advanced Hardwood Biofuels Northwest project.
