Arctic Peregrine Falcon Abundance on Cliffs Along the Colville River, Alaska, 1981-2002 and Covariate Input Files

    This data set consists of fourteen data files. Rcode_arctic_peregrine_abundance.R contains R code that was used to analyze Arctic peregrine falcon data collected between 1981 and 2002. The code primarily uses the R package "UNMARKED" and is based on the Dail-Madsen model for estimating population abundance. To run this code in an R environment, download the file and open it in an R interpreter (such as RStudio). The remaining files are all covariate matrices that act as inputs to the R code.

    Soil Data Access Web Service

      The current Soil Data Access Web Map Service (WMS) supports Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC) WMS version 1.1.1 requests while the current Soil Data Access Web Feature Services (WFS) support OGC WFS version 1.1.0 (GML2/GML3) requests. GML is an acronym for Geography Markup Language, and is the XML grammar defined by the Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC) to express geographical features. GML serves as a modeling language for geographic systems as well as an open interchange format for geographic transactions on the Internet. EPSG is an acronym used throughout the Soil Data Access web pages. It stands for European Petroleum Survey Group. They publish a database of coordinate system information plus some very good related documents on map projections and datums.

      Unit process data for bio-jet fuel production from poplar biomass via bioconversion at a biorefinery

        A partial Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) is conducted to investigate the life cycle impacts of a biorefinery designed to convert poplar tree chips into jet fuel via fermentation and subsequent hydrogenation. The goal of producing jet fuel from Populus (poplar) trees (bio-jet) is to create an alternative to petroleum based jet fuel (petro-jet). Currently no jet fuel producing biorefineries are in commercial operation and the results of this LCA will be used to assess a potential environmental impact that could result from scaling up the proposed system. Work is part of the Advanced Hardwood Biofuels Northwest project.
