SoilWeb

SoilWeb applications can be used to access and explore USDA-NCSS detailed soil survey maps and data (SSURGO) for most of the United States, as well as maps and data outside of Web Soil Survey. Developed by the University of California. Available interface apps: SoilWeb; SoilWeb Earth; SEE: Soil Series Extent Explorer; Soil Properties; Soil Agricultural Groundwater Banking Index (SAGBI).

Gridded National Soil Survey Geographic Database (gNATSGO)

The gridded National Soil Survey Geographic Database (gNATSGO) is a USDA-NRCS Soil & Plant Science Division (SPSD) composite ESRI file geodatabase that provides complete coverage of the best available soils information for all areas of the United States and Island Territories. It was created by combining data from the Soil Survey Geographic Database (SSURGO), State Soil Geographic Database (STATSGO2), and Raster Soil Survey Databases (RSS) into a single seamless ESRI file geodatabase.

      Java Newhall Simulation Model (jNSM)

The Java Newhall Simulation Model or jNSM is a mesoscale model that is appropriate for use in regional geospatial analyses that support the MLRA update of published digital soil geographic databases (SSURGO/STATSGO2). This software can be used with monthly, serially complete records from weather stations, Soil Climate Analysis Network (SCAN) stations, and local soil climate monitoring sensors.

Natural Resources Conservation Service Soil Data Viewer

Soil Data Viewer is a tool built as an extension to ArcMap that allows a user to create soil-based thematic maps. The application can also be run independently of ArcMap, but output is then limited to a tabular report. The soil survey attribute database associated with the spatial soil map is a complicated database with more than 50 tables. Soil Data Viewer provides users access to soil interpretations and soil properties while shielding them from the complexity of the soil database.

          SHOOTGRO

SHOOTGRO emphasizes the development and growth of the shoot apex of small-grain cereals such as winter and spring wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) and spring barley (Hordeum vulgare L.). To better incorporate the variability typical in the field, up to six cohorts, or age classes, of plants are followed using a daily time step.

            CCE Nitrogen Index Tool

The Nitrogen Index is a tool written in the programming language Java that is used to calculate nitrogen uptake and leaching in farming techniques.

              Soil Series Classification Database (SC)

The USDA-NRCS Soil Series Classification Database contains the taxonomic classification of each soil series identified in the United States, Territories, Commonwealths, and Island Nations served by USDA-NRCS. Along with the taxonomic classification, the database contains other information about the soil series, such as office of responsibility, series status, dates of origin and establishment, and geographic areas of usage.
