Organic Beef Data from Integration of Crops and Livestock Project

As the organic forage-finished beef industry continues to grow, it is important to understand factors that affect meat quality, characteristics of beef that influence human health, and sensory attributes of cooked beef. Research on alternative breeds and forage types that influence meat quality, FA and AA profiles, and sensory attributes in an organic forage-finished production system, as well as comparisons with alternative breeds is lacking. Data release is part of data management plan with USDA-NIFA funding. Data is from organic dairy beef steers collected at the West Central Research and Outreach Center, Morris, MN.

USDA Foreign Agricultural Service Market and Trade Data

FAS’s PSD (Production, Supply and Distribution) Online data for those commodities published in the WASDE Report are reviewed and updated monthly by an interagency committee chaired by USDA’s World Agricultural Outlook Board (WAOB), and consisting of: the Foreign Agricultural Service (FAS), the Economic Research Service (ERS), the Farm Service Agency (FSA), and the Agricultural Marketing Service (AMS). The international portion of the data is updated with input from agricultural attachés stationed at U.S. embassies around the world, FAS commodity analysts, and country and commodity analysts with ERS. The U.S. domestic component is updated with input from analysts in FAS, ERS, the National Agricultural Statistical Service, and FSA. Interagency work on the database is carried out under the aegis of the WAOB. The official USDA supply and use data is published monthly in: WAOB, World Agricultural Supply and Demand Estimates (WASDE); in the foreign agricultural commodity circular series issued by FAS; and in the regional situation and outlook reports and monthly commodity newsletters of ERS (see keywords Crops and Animal Products) data for horticultural products are usually published twice a year.

Data from: Secretome data from Trichoderma reesei and Aspergillus niger cultivated in submerged and sequential fermentation methods

The cultivation procedure and the fungal strain applied for enzyme production may influence levels and profile of the proteins produced. The proteomic analysis data presented here provide critical information to compare proteins secreted by Trichoderma reesei and Aspergillus niger when cultivated through submerged and sequential fermentation processes, using steam-explosion sugarcane bagasse as inducer for enzyme production.

2015 USDA Farm To School Census Data Explorer Tool

The Farm to School Census measures USDA's progress toward improving access to local foods in schools. The web-based interface allows users to run customized searches using data from the 2015 Farm to School Census.

          NASS Data Visualization

NASS Data Visualization provides a dynamic web query interface supporting searches by Commodity (e.g. Cotton, Corn, Farms & Land, Grapefruit, Hogs, Oranges, Soybeans, Wheat), Statistic type (automatically refreshed based upon choice of Commodity - e.g. Inventory, Head, Acres Planted, Acres Harvested, Production, Yield) to generate chart, table, and map visualizations by year (2001-2016), as well as a link to download the resulting data in CSV format compatible for updating databases and spreadsheets.

Product System Model of United States Poultry Production 2010

This product system represents the poultry meat produced for human consumption as a result of producing one broiler. Both types of live weight poultry are at the farm gate, ready for transport to the processing plant, although not necessarily at the same farm. It includes the fraction of a spent hen attributable to the production of one broiler.
