Hymenoptera Holotypes of the Smithsonian Institution

This website and on-line searchable database is a collaborative effort among several individuals. The arrangement of the specimen labels in the images on this site reflect their top to bottom positioning on the pin as viewed from upper left to lower right.

    Bugwood Images

Bugwood Images provides an easily accessible archive of high quality images for use in educational applications. It is made up of five major website interfaces. These are ForestryImages, IPMImages, InsectImages, WeedImages, and Invasive.org. The focus of Bugwood Images is on species of economic concern. Images cover invasive species, forestry, agriculture, integrated pest management, plants, insects, diseases, fungi, wildlife, fire and other natural resource issues.

      GRACEnet Soil Biology Network

The GRACEnet Soil Biology mission is to produce the soil biology data, including methods of identifying and quantifying specific organisms and processes they govern, that are needed to evaluate impacts on agroecosystems and sustainable agricultural practices.

Data from: Underestimation of N2O emissions in a comparison of the DayCent, DNDC, and EPIC 1 models

Process-based models are increasingly used to study mass and energy fluxes from agro-ecosystems, including nitrous oxide (N2O) emissions from agricultural fields. This data set is the output of three process-based models – DayCent, DNDC, and EPIC – which were used to simulate fluxes of N2O from dairy farm soils. The individual models' output and the ensemble mean output were evaluated against field observations from two agricultural research stations in Arlington, WI and Marshfield, WI. These sites utilize cropping systems and nitrogen fertilizer management strategies common to Midwest dairy farms.

          Ricebase

Ricebase ([https://ricebase.org](https://ricebase.org)) is an integrative genomic database for rice (Oryza sativa) with an emphasis on combining datasets in a way that maintains the key links between past and current genetic studies. Ricebase includes DNA sequence data, gene annotations, nucleotide variation data and molecular marker fragment size data.

USDA Table of Nutrient Retention Factors, Release 6 (2007)

Release 6, of this data set, replaces the previous release, Release 5, issued in 2003. The data set contains the factors for calculating retention of 26 vitamins, minerals and alcohol during food preparation. Factors for the other 25 food components in Release 4 are unchanged. Factors for total choline have been added to this release.

Dietary Supplement Ingredient Database (DSID) release 4.0

The Dietary Supplement Ingredient Database (DSID) provides estimated levels of ingredients in dietary supplement products sold in the United States. These statistically predicted estimates may differ from labeled amounts and are based on chemical analysis of nationally representative products. The DSID was developed by the Nutrient Data Laboratory, US Department of Agriculture, in collaboration with the Office of Dietary Supplements at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and other federal agencies. DSID-4 reports national estimates of ingredient content in adult, children’s and non-prescription prenatal multivitamin/mineral (MVMs) and omega-3 fatty acid supplements.

                NASS Data Visualization

NASS Data Visualization provides a dynamic web query interface supporting searches by Commodity (e.g. Cotton, Corn, Farms & Land, Grapefruit, Hogs, Oranges, Soybeans, Wheat), Statistic type (automatically refreshed based upon choice of Commodity - e.g. Inventory, Head, Acres Planted, Acres Harvested, Production, Yield) to generate chart, table, and map visualizations by year (2001-2016), as well as a link to download the resulting data in CSV format compatible for updating databases and spreadsheets.

                  NAL Geodata

The United States Department of Agriculture National Agricultural Library Geospatial Data catalog contains geographic location-based agricultural research data, imagery, research location context, and more. Users can search records representing a variety of datasets, maps and graphics, aerial and phenocam images, and other services.

                    NASS - Quick Stats

The Quick Stats Database is the most comprehensive tool for accessing agricultural data published by the USDA National Agricultural Statistics Service (NASS). It allows you to customize your query by commodity, location, or time period. You can then visualize the data on a map, manipulate and export the results as an output file compatible for updating databases and spreadsheets, or save a link for future use. Quick Stats contains official published aggregate estimates related to U.S. agricultural production. County level data are also available via Quick Stats.
