FACETS enterprise crop budgets for NE Florida and SW Georgia

Enterprise budgets contained in this database were developed as part of the Floridian Aquifer Collaborative Engagement for Sustainability (FACETS), a large-scale, multi-institutional, multi-disciplinary project funded by the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) National Institute of Food and Agriculture (NIFA). The goal of this project is to promote the economic sustainability of agriculture and silviculture in North Florida and South Georgia while protecting water quantity, quality, and habitat in the Upper Floridan Aquifer and the springs and rivers it feeds. This dataset includes budgets developed for pine plantations, corn and peanut crops, and hay and pasture production in the Lower Suwannee River Basin, Florida.

Data from: 'Drowning in Drought': County-level drought vulnerability and adaptive capacity of New Mexico Ranchers

To capture the nuances of drought experiences across New Mexico, semi-structured interviews were conducted with New Mexico State University (NMSU) Cooperative Extension Service (CES) agents (livestock, 4-H, Tribal) across the state in June-September 2020. The interviews were guided by the questions “does region matter [for drought adaptation differences], and on what?”

      Irrigator Pro for Peanuts

Irrigator Pro is an expert system designed to provide irrigation scheduling recommendations based on scientific data resulting in conservation minded irrigation management. The success of Irrigator Pro for Peanuts created interest in other groups. A collaborative effort between the NPRL, Cotton Commission, University of Georgia, and the Peanut Foundation was established to create comparable models for cotton and corn.
