WinTR-55 is a single-event rainfall-runoff small watershed hydrologic model. The model generates hydrographs from both urban and agricultural areas and at selected points along the stream system. Hydrographs are routed downstream through channels and/or reservoirs. Multiple sub-areas can be modeled within the watershed.
Prioritization of dam rehabilitation, improved flood warning systems, development of emergency action plans, and inform policy makers on zoning regulations.
The USDA-NRCS Soil Series Classification Database contains the taxonomic classification of each soil series identified in the United States, Territories, Commonwealths, and Island Nations served by USDA-NRCS. Along with the taxonomic classification, the database contains other information about the soil series, such as office of responsibility, series status, dates of origin and establishment, and geographic areas of usage.

Raw Light-Level Geolocator Data from Golden-Winged Warblers Breeding at Three Sites in North America
21 raw light-level data files (.lig) from geolocators (Biotrak, Wareham, UK; model ML6240, 2-min light-sampling regime) deployed on 20 individual Golden-winged Warblers from three breeding locations in North America. These data were collected to provide information on the migration routes and timing, and nonbreeding locations of individuals from these populations to inform conservation and management strategies. These data are being released following the publication of these findings.
The Rapid Carbon Assessment (RaCA) was initiated by the USDA-NRCS Soil Science Division in 2010 with the following objectives:
- To develop statistically reliable quantitative estimates of amounts and distribution of carbon stocks for U.S. soils under various land covers and to the extent possible, differing agricultural management.
- To provide data to support model simulations of soil carbon change related to land use change, agricultural management, conservation practices, and climate change.
- To provide a scientifically and statistically defensible inventory of soil carbon stocks for the U.S.
This site provides free access to Iowa geographic map data through an on-line map viewer and through Web Map Service (WMS) connections for GIS. The site was developed by the Iowa State University Geographic Information Systems Support and Research Facility in cooperation with the Iowa Department of Natural Resources, the USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service, and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. This site was first launched in March 1999.
