    Genomes To Fields (G2F) Inbred Ear Imaging Data 2017

      A subset of ~30 inbreds were evaluated in 2014 and 2015 to develop an image based ear phenotyping tool. The data is stored in [CyVerse](http://datacommons.cyverse.org/browse/iplant/home/shared/commons_repo/curated/Edgar_Spalding_G2F_Inbred_Ear_Imaging_June_2017).

      Data from: Exome genotyping, linkage disequilibrium and population structure in loblolly pine (Pinus taeda L.)

        Loblolly pine (*Pinus taeda* L.) is one of the most widely planted and commercially important forest tree species in the USA and worldwide, and is an object of intense genomic research. However, whole genome resequencing in loblolly pine is hampered by its large size and complexity and a lack of a good reference. As a valid and more feasible alternative, entire exome sequencing was hence employed to identify the gene-associated single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) and to genotype the sampled trees.

        Frankliniella occidentalis genome annotations v0.5.3

          This dataset presents the Frankliniella occidentalis gene set BCM_v_0.5.3. RNA-Seq data was used with additional protein homology data for a MAKER automated annotation of the Frankliniella occidentalis genome assembly 1.0.

          Genes of viral origin in the Microplitis demolitor genome

            *Microplitis demolitor* (Hymenoptera: Braconidae) is a parasitoid used as a biological control agent to control larval-stage Lepidoptera and serves as a model for studying the function and evolution of symbiotic viruses in the genus Bracovirus. Using RNA-Seq data for this species and manual annotation of genes of viral origin, we annotated a high-quality gene set including 171 virus-derived protein-coding genes.

            Data from: Datasets for transcriptomic analyses of maize leaves in response to Asian corn borer feeding and/or jasmonic acid

              Corn's (*Zea mays*) response to initial insect damage involves a variety of changes to the levels of defensive enzymes, toxins, and communicative volatiles. Such a dramatic change secondary metabolism necessitates the regulation of gene expression at the transcript level. This *Data In Brief* paper summarizes the datasets of the transcriptome of corn plants in response to corn stalk borers (*Ostrinia furnacalis*) and/or methyl jasmonate (MeJA). Altogether, 39,636 genes were found to be differentially expressed.

              Gerris buenoi Genome Assembly 1.0

                The Baylor College of Medicine recently sequenced and annotated the Gerris buenoi genome as part of the i5k pilot project. This dataset presents the Gerris buenoi genome v1.0. This assembly version is the pre-release version, prior to filtering and quality control by the National Center for Biotechnology Information's GenBank resource. The corresponding genome assembly in [GCA_001010745.1](https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/assembly/GCA_001010745.1/)

                Gerris buenoi genome annotations v0.5.3

                  The Gerris buenoi genome was recently sequenced and annotated as part of the i5k pilot project by the Baylor College of Medicine. This dataset presents the Gerris buenoi gene set BCM_v_0.5.3, which was generated computationally. RNA-Seq data was used with additional protein homology data for a MAKER automated annotation of the Gerris buenoi genome assembly 1.0. NOTE: This gene set is an unstable pre-release (v0.5.3), and was provided to facilitate manual curation and analyses before the official gene set is released. Gene identifiers from this gene set will likely not be maintained.
